Introduction

The Dales Divide App has been developed for use in the Dales Divide cycle event which next takes place over Easter 2024 starting 29th March. The App records and reports GPS locations to www.momeco.com at user given intervals, which may also be switched off.

Once the App starts it will show an alert. Tap on Allow Once

The App then shows a map at roughly the location of the start of the event.

Click on the Enter your pass-code and then enter the eight character pass-code you were given when registering on the www.momeco.com web site and then tap OK.  Only correctly registered Apps will display your location on the www.momeco.com tracking page.  For example if you were given the code 67812397 on www.momeco.com website enter this.

Select the main Menu again then tap ** Turn Tracking On ** Button. The following screen will appear to which you again tap ** Turn Tracking On ** Button. Note that you can choose not to track by clicking Cancel.

The screen should update every 10 minutes, showing red icons, where the last GPS coordinate was sent to the server.  The blue dot is the current location (note that this screen is updated every minute and is from a simulation in San Francisco).

To turn off tracking open the main Menu and select ** Turn Tracking Off ** and then ** Turn Tracking Off ** from the sub menu. You can choose Cancel to carry on tracking

You can open the www.momeco.com tracking website by opening the main Menu and tapping on the Event tracking button.

When you are tracking this takes place at a given interval.  By default this is 10 minutes and you shouldn’t need to change this.  However, when testing or debugging you might want to shorten or even lengthen this interval. For example, if you wish to set this interval to 2 minutes tap on the Change the GPS interval in the Main menu.

Note that this must be whole number with no decimal places.

You can also save your tracked data to the Files App as a GPX file, where you can then launch or send your GPX file.  To open the tracked data tap on Save your GPX track which opens the following sub menu.

You have two choices. You can save your track to a GPS file by tapping on Save & Continue. This allows you to save and continue with your tracking so you can view your tracks on another App. At some stage you will want to tap on Save & Restart which terminates your tracking. To view the files you have saved find the Files App.

Start the Files App.

Tap on the Browse icon on the right of the bottom of the screen

Then tap on the On My iPhone button.

Tap on the Dales Divide icon to show your file[s].

There is only one file called 202402262131.gpx. Note that your iPhone may show different icons and names.

The final option is About.  This option allows you to visit the www.momeco.com website.

Tap on the About option and then in the sub menu tap the Website to launch Safari and open www.momeco.com or tap the Cancel button.
